Beaver Lodge Reading Hideout

Built of Douglas Fir and soft carpeting, the Beaver Lodge is a place for kids to play and read in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho public library. The mural in the background is by Mary Dee Dodge and represents stylized wildlife in a northern wetlands.

Intersection

This public artwork is situated at the north end of the campus of North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene. On this site, native people met for thousands of years until the coming of European industry, in this case, the sawmill. We created this piece using welded iron and brightly colored vitreous enamels representing both the sawmill and native beadwork. 14' wide, 8' tall.
